It all started when…

Jerry Mace and his family moved to the Virgin Islands in 1985 and fell in love with the culture and beauty it had to offer. After a long time away his daughter Sydney, along with her husband Andrew, finally returned to St. John to take over Cafe Roma as the new owners. The people are just as welcoming and kind as we remembered, yet we were heartbroken as we experienced the devastation and resulting housing crisis that was left from the damage done by Hurricanes Irma and Maria.

Our family lived in an apartment with no roof, black mold and an enormous monthly rent. We had to move employees into our one bedroom dwelling as there was not enough housing to staff the businesses of St. John. Our story is not unique, and it is certainly not the worst that you will hear. Now we offer the island a solution.

It was always a long term goal of Sydney's to help create sustainable, eco-friendly and affordable homes on the island and her father, Jerry Mace, has decided to help make her vision a reality. Recently fate brought us together with Barry Bunker, a tiny home builder and designer who is also returning to the island after a hiatus. Mr. Bunker is passionate about rebuilding the island, and is working to make it a reality. Barry has over twenty years of Design-Build experience in both residential and commercial construction. Together we have created tiny home designs that will solve St. John's housing crisis, and eventually we hope it can benefit all of the Virgin Islands.

Our homes will be affordable and energy efficient units and can be custom built to fit the customer's unique needs. We aim to provide homes for sale as well as for long-term lease so that all St. John residents can live in a quality, safe, and affordable home.
